A Bit About Joyace

Joyace is a Master’s level clinician who earned her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in addition to certificates in Marriage and Family Therapy, Trauma Counseling, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She plans to pursue her Doctor of Ministry Degree beginning in the fall of 2025.

 

Following 25 years of working in the legal field, Joyace felt the call of God to change directions and responded with by choosing to dedicate the rest of her life to serving and helping others become the best version of themselves. As a Richmont Trauma Center intern, she worked with individuals, groups and families from diverse backgrounds, including parents, families, adolescents, college students and middled-aged to older adults. Joyace’s specializations include complex developmental trauma, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, chronic pain, identity issues, suicide ideation, and spiritual disconnectedness.

Joyace comprehends complex family dynamics both individualistically and as a unit and how generational trauma can play a role in shaping family systems. She is passionate about helping families maintain cohesiveness so every member thrives.

 

Joyace grew up in a military family and lived abroad. She empathizes with individuals going through social isolation, suicide ideation and feeling stuck. Joyace recognizes the complexities of life cycles, grief, sudden loss, divorce, aging and chronic pain, and she can help reframe thoughts and draw upon resources to make a change for the better. She is trained in faith integration in her therapeutic interventions for those who desire it. Joyace invites you into a warm, welcoming space where non-judgment is her golden rule. Joyace can help you move from feelings of helplessness to hopefulness.

Joyace is a pre-licensed professional who is working to procure full licensure.  She is currently practicing under the clinical supervision of Simone Cox, LMFT, LPC, AAMFT(S), CPCS. 

 

Joyace is a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for couples, a group facilitator,  a certified CPR/AED provider, and she is certified to conduct telehealth sessions.
